This week we have some real paper and real pen. Pointillism and stippling have been around for some time now. It is commonly attributed that the style was pioneered in the mid-1880s, which I will talk about more in my video. Pointillism is making an image or gradient using little dot marks on a page or canvas. It’s a simple concept, however, it can achieve some incredible effects. This video is short and sweet with a pretty basic design as far as pointillism goes; the real folks spend days working on pieces (if not longer).
As usual, let me know what you’d like to see next!

Awesome work, Riley! I really do learn a lot from your videos every week and I love how well they are structured and flow so nicely. You could honestly consider making these videos into a YouTube series and I think they would be really well received! For example, I think your video is way more effective and engaging then this tutorial I stumbled upon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJsfGuVP7uw.
Just something to consider! 🙂
I also appreciate how you always add to your content by experimenting with each art technique and giving the viewers live examples. I also appreciated how you shared the pens you used to create the stippling image as I definitely want to grab one of those Micron pens!

Love this, Riley!
Your art is truly incredible. Keep doing you! Thank you for sharing what pens you used. I have a hard time narrowing down which art supplies to buy sometimes for certain pieces, so it’s great to have your videos and posts as a point of reference. The Micron pens will definitely be on my next art supply order!

Great Vid Riley! I’ve always been fascinated by pointillism and drawn to this style of art, ever since I remember it’s caught my attention, I still can recall the first time I witnessed this style of art in elementary school and from this moment forward found it one of the most masterful art styles. Thank you for explaining it so eloquently.

Riley your editing style is awesome! I appreciate how short, yet comprehensive your videos are. Especially the addition of your cat ;^) I love the look of pointillism but my god is it ever time-consuming. Love your final piece!
